Charitable donation to Leuchars Primary School
The pupils on Leuchars Primary School in Scotland have been granted a new and colourful DecoMark™ playground to play on. Former pupil Craig Cummings took the initiative to contact suppliers and ask for their help - and Preformed Markings was happy to assist.
Over 10 years ago, Leuchars Primary School applied for grant aid to provide a playground for the pupils. The application for the grant was declined and the school then attempted to raise the money themselves. Every time they had funds set aside, however, the finances for the school were reduced, and the money had to be used to support normal day-to-day operations.
Leuchars Primary School is located on the East Coast of Scotland, 10 miles south of Dundee and near the famous St Andrews Golf Course. The school is attended by approximately 300 children from the surrounding village.
Craig Cummings was a pupil of the school in the 1970’s. He now has children of his own who attended the school recently and he was the one, who took the initiative to contact suppliers and ask for their help. Preformed Markings was happy to help by way of DecoMark® markings.
Craig is the Guest Services Relationship Manager at Overgate Shopping Centre in Dundee. He arranged for lunch to be delivered to us, made sure that refreshments was provided by the school and all other help he could offer.
The installation of the DecoMark® markings were completed in two and a half days by Ray Stace and Andrew Price from Preformed Markings and Jamie Cochran from Colas Ltd.
The school and the children were overjoyed with the result and the press also found the story interesting. STV (Scottish TV) even made a feature that aired on national news.
