Safe roundabout on the Faroe Islands

The scenic surroundic in Vága on the Faroe Island has been given a splash of colour. The Faroe road authorities, Landsverk, and our Country Manager at Geveko Markings, Henrik Nielsen, collaborated on making the city roundabout safer by applying red PlastiRoute™ Rollgrip.

On a Fall day in October, Vága on the Faroe Island was given a splash of colour. Together with the Faroe road authorities, Landsverk, our Country Manager at Geveko Markings, Henrik Nielsen, made sure that red PlastiRoute™ RollGrip was applied on a roundabout in order to increase awareness and safety in the scenic area.

More precisely, the red colour was chosen to make the roundabout more visible for drivers and to warn them to reduce speed.

By using long-hair paint rollers, the PlastiRoute™ RollGrip is automatically deposited in the shape of small heaps of 2-3 mm. The result is a strong texture with superior skid resistance under wet and rainy conditions. This is often when friction is needed the most. Therefore, we recommend this product for preferential lanes and bicycle lanes in heavy traffic zones which especially benefit from increased skid resistance.

Our PREMARK preformed thermoplastic symbols are easily applied on top of PlastiRoute RollGrip. The two products have been developed to bond well with each other which makes it unnecessary to use a  primer.
