Free zones marked on Dutch University
An area on the Technical University in Delft has recently been marked with giant red PREMARK™ letters indicating that it represents a so-called “free zone” that can be booked by students and employees.
The marking was applied by our customer Van Velsen Reflectielijnen who also supplied the footage of the application and the great final result displaying the word 'free zone' in large, red letters.
A free zone is a public space that students and employees of the university can rent on an everyday basis. They are available for various purposes including outdoor studying, research, relaxing or perhaps a meeting or a project presentation in the open air. There are six such zones in the university in total and in three different sizes.
This big red, eye-catching application was done in our durable PREMARK™ material. This preformed thermoplastic material is ready-to-use on delivery and applied with just the use of a heat torch. Due to the size of this application, the markings were supplied in smaller pieces and in applied like a giant puzzle.
The patented heat indents on the PREMARK material makes it easy to see when you reach the optimum adhesion to the surface, and in this way, you ensure that the marking is optimally applied and last longer.
With more than 26,000 students and 6,000 employees, the free zones are bound to be used and the markings exposed to many passings every day. In this case, PREMARK provides a great choice of material as it is highly durable and will be able to last in years to come for multiple activities.
